New 1967 Shelby GT500CR’s hit the road
As we mentioned here (Classic Mustang parts galore) last week, Classic Recreations is taking original 1967 Mustang fastbacks, stripping parts off – reselling them, and equipping them with genuine Shelby American parts to make a new Shelby GT500CR.
The guys over at Jalopnik were invited out to take one of these monsters for a ride and get a better understanding of what these genuine reproductions are about, right down to the authentic Shelby serial numbers and even come with signature of the man himself, Carroll Shelby.
Rated at 545 horses from the stroked 351 Windsor which now displaces a healthy 427 cubes and is fitted with some modern technology in the form of fuel injection, and a beefy Tremec T5Z slushbox, this car is a modern day work of art.
Check out what else they had to say about it below.
