SR-71 Mustang fetches $375,000

The SR-71 Mustang co-designed by Jack Roush and Carroll Shelby went for a cool $375,000 with the proceeds benefitting the Experimental Aircraft Associations Young Eagles program.

Ford has donated a one-off Mustang for the past three years with this years resembling that of a SR-71 Blackbird. The car is based off a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with a Whipple supercharger, SVT wheels, and custom Recaro seats with both Shelby and Roush’s names embroidered into them.

We thought this Mustang might have brought in more money based on the sole fact that it was built by two of the best designers of the Ford Mustang. But, $375,000 is nothing to sneeze at. Congrats to the winning bidder for having a truly unique treasure.
