GM squashes mid-engine Corvette rumors like a bug
Rumors were running rampant online that the next generation of Corvette would be mid-engine configurations that not everyone was pleased about hearing. Not only would it have changed the iconic drive train configuration, engine in the front, rear-wheel-drive, it would have opened a new chapter on the Corvette in general.
So to quash these rumors, GM has announced that the next generation Corvette will not be mid-engined, nor will it have a dual wet clutch transmission that was rumored to be going with the mid-engine setup. However, GM is apparently considering maybe doing a hybrid engine for the Vette. That should be interesting to see.
