Corolla and Matrix Recalled

[ 0 ] August 27, 2010 |

So the other day we indicated that the NHTSA was investigating possible issues with stalling in certain Toyota Corolla and Matrix models. Well, Toyota has said it will recall for 1.13 million vehicles where the engine control module will be replaced beginning in September.

As with all safety recalls, this work will be done at no cost to consumers and Toyota will be sending recall notifications to owners. However, Toyota insists this is a limited issue and isn’t a safety concern so they won’t be making an official recall.

AutoBlog mentions that the Pontiac Vibe is built on the same platform and apparently GM has issued a press release for 2005-2008 models to be recalled for the same issue.
