Chrysler has once again reached deep in the Mopar bag to bring back the Drag Pak package for the third consecutive year and the 2011 model doesn’t disappoint. They’ve decided to go big or go home with the introduction of a 8.4 liter V-10 monster measuring in at 512 cubes coupled to a two-speed automatic transmission. The same engine in the Viper produces in the 600 region for both horsepower and torque, but no specifics on the version for the Drag Pak.
This thing is ready for the 1320 straight off the show room floor. If the engine and tranny combo didn’t seal the deal, it also comes with a complete fuel cell assembly, polycarbonate door windows, specially modified body for drag racing, and race style wheels and tires.
They’ll only build 70 of these rubber burners and will be available for an MSRP of $85,512. Granted their limited availability, dealers will probably end up asking more for the right to be able to own one. If you’re lucky enough to be able to pick one of these up, you can add a competition package for a svelt $7,950 that adds an 8-point cage, 6-point harness, and a window net.
The Drag Pak will debut at the 2010 SEMA Show in Vegas in November, but if you want one run, don’t walk to your nearest dealer.
