2011 Mustang runs sub-9 second quarter mile
In a show of capabilities, Evolution Performance of Aston, Pennsylvania has run the first sub-9 second quarter mile pass with a 8.89 @ 148 mph. Of course this was done with anything but a stock power plant but it shows that the new 5.0 has potential – lots of it.
Sporting a 5.0 race engine equipped with a ProCharger churning out a huge 24 lbs of boost and coupled with an air-to-water intercooler, long tube headers, water and methanol injection system and a beefed up C4 transmission, this isn’t your typical off-the-lot 2011 Mustang GT.
We’ll see who follows suit with another 8-second Mustang.
