Corvette engineers make sunscreen for carbon fiber

Mark Voss, senior design engineer for General Motors, worked with this design team to pro-actively combat an engineering problem. You see, carbon fiber degrades with exposure to ultraviolet light, so the design team came up with a clear coat that blocks the particular wavelengths that damage the carbon fiber and helps protect it. Just like a permanent sunscreen
