Camaro ZL1 drops the hammer on the competition

[ 0 ] March 1, 2011 |

Chevrolet isn’t fooling around with the new Camaro ZL1. Under the hood, sporting a 6.2L power plant that they’ve estimated will put out an supercharged 550 hp and 550 ft-lbs of torque, there is no doubt that the heart of the ZL1 is in deed stout.

Chevy’s goal to build a Camaro that can perform on the track and on the street has been met with electric steering, magnetic ride control with touring and sport modes, and some beefy 14.6” Brembo brakes to slow the go.

Sounds like Chevy is looking to wow the masses with a performance based Camaro that will surely please the gearheads out there. They plan to have them available in dealerships in early 2012.
