You may remember hearing about the new, improved, window stickers that the EPA was coming up with to give more information to consumers regarding fuel economy and emissions. Well a part of those new stickers was a grade from A to D based on their efficiency, but manufacturers claimed it was a little too subjective of big brother to rate their vehicles that way. Fortunately for consumers, the EPA has decided to drop the letter grading system and instead provide more information on projected costs and CO2 emissions.
Of course, this move doesn’t make everyone happy. The Safe Climate Campaign has voiced its disappointment in dropping this grading system. We say it’s a good move and keeps consumers from being swayed by partial information they may not fully understand. Give people the raw information and let them get educated on the matter and ultimately decide for themselves.
