BMW issues mass recall for 2008 through 2011 BMW models
BMW has issued a recall for 2008 through 2011 vehicles due to issues with a faulty water pump circuit board which poses a fire hazard. The number of vehicles affected by the recall is almost 33,000.
More specifically, the models affected are powered by the 8 or 12 cylinder turbo charged engines. That would mean if you drive a 2008-2011 5 series, 7 series, X5 or X6 and you have not been contacted by BMW you may want to check the status of your vehicle.
