Alfa Romeo is making a come back to the US… and they mean it this time… No really!
Yes… we’ve heard it before… the Alfa Romeo 8C was supposed to take the US by storm and spark a rebirth of Alfa support in the states. This was announced in 2006 by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and there was much rejoicing. Then, well, nothing happened. The reasoning behind it can be traced to the Fiat/Chrysler deal and the problems with economic markets throughout the world which caused a global mosh pit when it came to automotive markets.
Well, here we are again. It’s 2011 and Alfa is poised to take the US by storm with the 4C. This time I honestly hope it comes to be. The 4C is powered by a 1.8L turbo four cylinder making over 230 HP and sporting a 6 speed manual transmission. And, even as this goes without saying, it has to be mentioned… it looks incredible. Now that Fiat has got it hooks back in the US, we will have to see if the Alfa once again graces the states. Only time will tell.
