Shelby GT500 prototype sells for $300,000.00 with proceeds going to JDF!
Ahhh those folks at Barrett-Jackson have done it again! Continuing their fantastic tradition of raising money for charity, Barrett-Jackson delivered again with the auction of the one-off 2013 Shelby GT500 prototype Ford used in testing and development.
This Mustang was put through the paces by the SVT team and Carroll Shelby in numerous locations including Sebring raceway. Shelby of course signed the car before it headed to the auction block. The final auction price was right at $300,000.00 with 100% of the proceeds going to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Ford has become a staple of supplying one-off and very rare automobiles to Barrett-Jackson auctions in support of various charities over the years. There is nothing better than gear heads and the manufacturers themselves getting together to support great charities such as this.
