The Jaguar C-X75 is going to be a reality

The number of supercars available on the market today has become almost overwhelming. There are so many, as a matter of fact, that they seemed to have lost some of their magical luster in the eyes of car fanatics. Sometimes, however, a new one will come along that will simply take your breath away and make you feel like that eight year old kid seeing a Lamborghini for the first time. The Jaguar C-X75 is that car.

The C-X75 first appeared in 2010 as a twin turbine concept car, and jaws dropped. Then there were hints that the car would make it to production, but there was no time table given. Now Jag has said it will indeed be producing the C-X75, 250 units to be exact, but the twin turbine engine setup will not make it to the true production vehicle. Several have been slated to be built with the experimental turbine setup, but it is unknown if those will ever see the light of day. Rumor has it the C-X75 will be powered by a turbocharged four cylinder that has had design help from the Williams F1 team. We can expect a couple of years before the first C-X75 rolls out to a wide eyed customer, but the fact that it is being built is a sign that some of the magic of supercars might just be coming back!
