The clock just keeps on ticking. A while back Chevy announced that the 2012 Camaro ZL1 would be delayed due to an undisclosed production problem. With the 2012 model year production schedule almost at an end some folks with ZL1s on order are starting to get a little frustrated.
The folks at GM have not clarified exactly what the quality issue with the vehicle is. We do know only one ZL1 was delivered and that was due to a dealer error. That ZL1 was picked back up and shipped back to the plant in Ontario along with all the other completed ZL1′s to have the supposed quality issue addressed. There is still no exact date when the completed cars will be fixed and delivered, let alone when and or if production on the 2012 ZL1 will even resume. With most manufacturers getting ready to start on their mass productions of 2013 models we may be seeing a very limited number of 2012 Camaro ZL1 models hitting the streets. This is definitely not a good start for the new, highly anticipated super Camaro.
