Shelby Cobra celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a meet in Pomona… insert get off my lawn joke here… at 100 MPH

[ 0 ] April 25, 2012 |

As all of us gear heads know, 2012 is the 50th Anniversary of the original Shelby Cobra. The very first Cobra reared its head at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, and the celebration is still going strong.

The latest was a Shelby owners meet up at the Wally Parks NHRA Museum in Pomona, California. The show was put on by the Team Shelby Pacific Coast Division and included original Cobras and their modern kit car counterparts. Meet was also graced with the presence of several rare collectibles for everyone to drool on, such as the Dragonsnake Cobra drag car, the Shelby School of High Performance Driving Cobra track car, and the original first production Cobra CSX2001. The Cobra is still one of the most built replicars on the road today. If the next stop on this birthday parade shows up close to you, take the time to go see it. It will be well worth the time.
