The 90th annual Pikes Peak event was supposed to take place July 8th but was postponed due to the Colorado wildfires. Since it’s cancellation organizers have been scrambling trying to find acceptable dates that would allow the event to take place as soon as possible, without interfering with other events slated for the Pikes Peak area.
It looks like they have finally settled on August 12th being the new date for the historic race. According to the race organizers, this will also allow the week long pre-race festivities to take place as well. All of the race teams have been notified, and so far the majority of them have replied stating that they will make the event’s new date.
