New Chevrolet Camaro LS Comes With Steel Wheels, Ugly

When the Chevrolet Camaro hits dealer lots sometime this spring, it’s base LS model will be offered with nothing else but steel wheels as a stock configuration. Available as an 18 inch wheel, the steelies are black with a silver ring. I have a couple thoughts on this. First, it’s good for enthusiasts like myself who don’t have to necessarily pay for a “premium” stock wheel, saving us money and allowing me to purchase an aftermarket set. Second, they’re ugly as hell and the appearance may hinder sales to the general public. Third, General Motors must really be trying to cut costs as both the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger come stock with painted aluminum wheels.
