2010 Chevrolet Camaro Gets Brake Weights

[ 0 ] April 28, 2009 | Jason Coe

The guys over at Camaro5 spotted a very unusual stack of weights on a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Upon closer inspection, it appears to have two sets of wheel weights stuck to the Camaro’s Brembo brake calipers. As Jalopnik states “to alleviate brake squeal. From a physics perspective, this explanation is plausible, as resonant frequency is in large part determined by mass, and by changing the vibrating mass of the caliper with the weights, a troublesome squeal would be eliminated for a particular driving condition”. Hope that doesn’t make it into production!
