Police Officers Drag Race Enthusiasts At Local Race Way
Police officers with the Medley Police Department in Florida have created a street legal drag racing program called “Beat the Heat” where officers race other drivers all night for $25. Located at County Line Drag Way, local officers have seen a drastic reduction in street racing cases since the program began in 2007. “We’re actually getting a lot of kids and adults alike come here and say, ‘We used to race in Davie. You probably used to chase us around, and now we’re here on the track and we want to race your car,’” said David Police Officer Ron Bradley. The next race will happen at 7pm, May 23 at County Line Drag Way located on Okeechobee Road.
