Mecum’s Spring Classic Auction Sells Classics

This past weekend at the Mecum Spring Classic Auction a 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe, one of six, almost sold for $6.8 million dollars. Once the highest bid was reached, no other one was willing to bid higher enough on the muscle car to reach it’s reserve price. Owner Dana Mecum commented “I’ll think we’ll get a deal done by the end of the weekend” but no other bids were placed. Other sales that occurred were a 1064 Cobra 289 for $1.3 million, 1966 Ford GT40 for $2.3 million, and others.
