2011 Ford Mustang GT Brings Fuel Efficiency and Power to the Pavement
The 2011 Ford Mustang GT is no slouch with its 5.0 liter mill cranking out a whopping 412hp but if I told you it is rated at 26 miles per gallon on the highway, would you believe it? Well, it’s true.
After last weeks unveiling of the new V6 Mustang which touts the title of most fuel efficient Mustang ever at 31mpg highway and also the first production vehicle to produce 305hp AND 31mpg. It is obvious that the engineers at Ford are doing something right.
The new all aluminum 5.0L V8 features dual overhead cams (DOHC) and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) and two new six-speed transmissions to choose from. Looks like you can have performance and fuel efficiency too, just imagine adding an aftermarket supercharger to the package!
