Chrysler Fleet offers law enforcement agencies a four-door sedan with all the power, handling and functionality they require to effectively patrol the streets. The 2008 Dodge Charger police vehicles are bold, powerful and capable vehicles for law enforcement agencies. They offer superior rear-wheel-drive performance and handling characteristics designed to perform and protect.

Dodge has a strong police heritage and is proud to offer vehicles armed with modern muscle and cutting-edge technology.

*Only police vehicle with best-in-class performance in four key categories: fastest acceleration, highest top speed, projected stopping distance, and Vehicle Dynamics
*Only police vehicle with standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
*Only police vehicle available with a 5.7L HEMIฎ V8 with the Multi-Displacement System (MDS)
*Most available horsepower and torque (5.7L 340hp, 390 lb.-ft of torque)
*Only police vehicle to include the following standard equipment from the OEM:

*Only police vehicle with standard P225/60R 18 BSW V-rated performance tires - largest tires in the industry

The Dodge Charger Police Vehicle — with the optional 5.7L HEMIฎ V8 engine — is the most powerful production police vehicle. The Charger is the only police vehicle that offers best-in-class performance in five key pursuit categories:

*Best-in-class available power — 355 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque (1)
*Best-in-class acceleration — 0 to 100 mph in 15.9 seconds (1)
*Best-in-class top speed — over 148 mph (1)
*Best-in-class projected stopping distance — from 60 mph to 0 in 142 feet (1)
*Best-in-class vehicle dynamics — average lap time of 01:37.77 (1)

The best-in-class 5.7L HEMI V8 engine features a Multi-Displacement System (MDS), which provides better fuel economy by deactivating four of the eight cylinders when less power is needed while cruising. The system functions so smoothly that drivers won’t notice when four of the cylinders are deactivated but they’ll always have the power of the V8 when needed.

A 250-horsepower 3.5L High Output V6 comes standard on Dodge Charger Police Vehicle. It delivers 250 lb ft of torque and impressive EPA fuel economy estimates: 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
