| 11: Remove the crank pulley from the vehicle. |
| 12: With the vehicle's crank pulley removed, you can see the difference in size between the OEM part (bottom row) and Steeda's underdrive kit (top row). |
| 13: Prior to installing Steeda's underdrive crank pulley, apply a dab of high temperature silicone sealer (gasket maker) to the key slot. |
14: Align the key slot of the pulley to the key on the crank shaft and use the longer bolt supplied with the underdrive kit to pull the new pulley into place on the crankshaft. Once the pulley is sufficiently on the shaft, remove the longer bolt and replace it with the shorter bolt supplied in the kit to finish pulling the pulley into place.
Caution: Do NOT tighten the longer bolt all the way as damage can occur to the crank shaft. |
15: Torque the crank shaft to the factory recommended specifications, which for the 2005-2007 Ford Mustang GT is 115 lb-ft of torque.
Important: Always use the factory specifications when torquing the retainer nut. The directions supplied with the kit we received were incorrect and torquing the pulley incorrectly can cause major damage to a vehicle's engine. |
| 16: Install the new water pump pulley. Tighten these bolts to 18 lb-ft of torque. |
| 17: Reinstall the accessory belt, using the factory routing. |
| 18: Reinstall the air intake tube and start the vehicle to ensure that the accessory belt tracks correctly. |
| 19: Your installation is complete. |
